The Detox laser sorter utilizes a special optical design that allows aflatoxin contamination to be detected and removed. This laser-technique can capture the extremely low intensity of the light reflected by the fungus. When this type of fungus is illuminated with a particular wavelength, it reflects light with a distinctive pattern, a unique fingerprint. The laser system recognizes this fingerprint leading to the removal of aflatoxin contaminated material at high flow rates. Detox can detect the aflatoxin biological signature even though it is invisible to the human eye.
